NetCheck Tools

Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 7, 2026

NetCheck Tools is a free diagnostic toolbox. This policy explains what data is involved when you use our DNS Lookup, SSL Checker and Port Checker tools, and how we handle it.

Information we collect

Diagnostic input (domain, IP address or port)

When you submit a domain, IP address or port to one of our tools, we use it only to perform the requested check (a DNS query, a TLS handshake, or a TCP connection attempt) and to return the result to your browser. We do not store the values you check, build a history of past lookups, or associate them with you.

Technical and log data

Like most web services, our infrastructure may keep standard, short-lived server logs (such as your IP address, request timestamp, requested endpoint and user agent) for security monitoring and abuse prevention. We do not use this data for advertising or to build personal profiles.

No account data

NetCheck Tools does not require registration. We do not collect names, passwords, or email addresses through the tools themselves — there is currently no user account system.

No payment data

All tools are free to use. We do not currently process payments and do not collect billing or card information.

How we use your IP address

Your IP address is used for two narrow purposes: (1) to know where to send the response to your request, and (2) for lightweight, per-IP rate limiting on our API endpoints, so that no single visitor can degrade the service for everyone else. Rate-limit counters are kept in memory on our server, expire automatically after a short time window (about one minute), and are never written to a database or shared with third parties.

Analytics

NetCheck Tools uses Google Analytics to measure audience and understand how visitors use the site (for example, which pages and tools are most used). Google Analytics may collect technical data such as anonymized or aggregated usage statistics, approximate location, device and browser type, and pages visited. This data is used in aggregate to understand traffic trends and is not used to identify individual visitors. If you prefer not to be measured, you can use a browser extension or setting that blocks Google Analytics.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell, rent or trade your data to anyone.
  • We do not sell any data related to the DNS, SSL or port diagnostic checks you run — see "Diagnostic input" above.
  • We do not use third-party advertising networks or trackers.
  • We do not currently have user accounts or process payments — see "No account data" and "No payment data" above.
  • We do not use paid third-party APIs to run our checks — DNS, SSL and port checks run directly from our own server using standard Node.js networking.

Data retention

Diagnostic inputs (the domain, IP or port you check) are processed in memory to produce your result and are not retained afterward. Server-level technical logs, where kept by our hosting infrastructure, are retained only as long as needed for security and abuse prevention, then deleted or rotated out automatically.

Children's privacy

NetCheck Tools is a technical utility intended for developers and IT professionals and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves — for example, if we introduce accounts or payments in the future. Any material change will be reflected on this page with an updated "last updated" date. Continued use of NetCheck Tools after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
